SwimMark

What is SwimMark Accreditation?

Formerly called swim21, SwimMark accreditation is a ‘quality mark’. It recognises nationally and regionally the clubs that are committed to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of their members. Clubs work steadily towards the attainment of a series of outcomes, all of which are seen as essential if the right level of support is to be provided at each stage of an athlete’s development.

What does SwimMark involve?

SwimMark is a three stage process.

Achievement of SwimMark Accreditation means that clubs will automatically be awarded Sport England’s Clubmark thereby ensuring that ‘aquatic clubs receive equal status with other sports clubs in the community.

Sherwood Colliery Swimming Club and SwimMark

Sherwood Colliery SC is one of the first clubs to achieve the SwimMark club Essential accreditation in recognition of the work undertaken by the Club and its volunteers.

The accreditation lasts for one year and, in addition to the development benefits of SwimMark, the club Essential award also entitles the Club to credits and discounts towards ongoing volunteer training, awards and qualifications to ensure the sustainability of activity in line with the Club's objectives.

The work continues with annual updates required by the ASA each year. These detail progress towards achieving our targets for that year together with action plans for the forthcoming year.

If anyone has any further questions or is interesting in helping the Club with Accreditation please contact Elissa Gregory.
